For two dancing mubonists and more than forty speakers. 2023. 9 minutes.
Kalun came to Montréal from Hong Kong by way of Toronto; Bettina came from Uruguay. In Migrations the two of them move through a room already full of Hong Kong: ship horns, street hawkers, woks, market noise, all planted ahead of time. As they move, they dig the sounds up and shuffle them around.
We made it for the Multimedia Room at McGill's CIRMMT, which has more than forty speakers. Travis played the electronics.
